| CH Long-term donation plan
In 2006, 11.5¢ out of every $23 you pay for CH online courses (Model I) will go to a project building elementary schools in rural areas of Tibet.
Why?
Ms. Helen Zhu, the founder of Chinese Horizon, has always had two great ambitions which she aimed to fulfill once she had achieved success: to help to develop education in the rural areas of China; and to do something towards the protection of animals.
But she realized one day that there was no need to wait till then, "Maybe we don't need to wait till we earn a lot of money", she said, "just do what we can". As the Chinese saying goes, "Drops of water can cut through rocks".
In this spirit, Chinese Horizon launches a new initiative: starting in 2006, and less than 2 years since the Mandarin Training business started, CH will have a commitment to making regular donations to projects building elementary schools in rural China, and to protecting endangered and mistreated animals.
Elementary School Program in Tibet
90% of the rural population in Tibet are illiterate. For many children in remote areas as well as children from nomad families, schooling is unavailable. The distances are too great, and most parents cannot afford boarding fees. The construction and equipping of schools is a vital contribution to development.
